1940's one of a kind rare black satin vintage wrist bag with shell top, gold tone tooled movable gate hardware with colored gemstones
Circular mouth opening and satin lining interior.
This bag reflects early mid 20th century artisan handbag design, often associated with specialty boutiques. Its appeal lies in the contrast between the soft pleated black satin body and the structured, decorativ metal lid. The lid features intricate filigree-style engraving, multi-colored faux gemstones, and a prominent center spiral motif, reminiscent of a shellor neoclassical ornamentation.
Collectors value these items for their unique, theatrical design and decorative hardware, which are rarely found in mass-produced modern accessories.
These purses are highly sought after and very unique and valued.
Condition: Overall condition is very good to excellent condition with the metal slightly tweaked but not at all noticeable. Handbag closes perfectly and does not open when in use. Also, to mention the shell has a very small tiny dent. (please see photos) This in no way takes away from the beauty, value or working movement of this handbag.
